Tea Time

by Amanda

I just discovered this wonderful little tea shop here. Okay, I lie. I heard about it a couple of years ago, but I never got a chance to try it. Since last week was spring break and most people were away, it was just a great idea to finally try it out.

This is the cutest place ever and I so regret waiting (literally) years before I came here. I could have been here enjoying a nice cup of tea and snacks every month or so. :disappointed: They only offer tea service during the hours of 11:30AM-5PM, so I had a really tough time arranging my schedule so I could come here. The hours make sense, but sigh, having work and class during those times just makes things so much more difficult.

Matt and I dropped by on a Thursday afternoon. We usually sit indoors for everything but the atmosphere around this area was just perfect. How could we resist outside with great weather and all these cute plants & decor around us?

It was just a little awkward because well, we’re both awkward and we had to sit and wait while the waitress set up our table to look ready for our afternoon tea.

I ordered iced Long Island Strawberry, a green tea, and Matt ordered earl grey tea. Both some of the most delicious teas I’ve had! The teas came out first along with scones (which were delicious, by the way).

The rest of our order took a little while to come out, but that was okay since we got some time to sit, drink tea, and be all fancy. The tray had fruit, cookies, cream tarts, chicken salad sandwiches, cucumber mint sandwiches, and various other little sandwiches. Everything looks so small, but it was more than enough to fill me up! Matt, however, left hungry so at least we know for next time he’ll have to eat first if this is lunchtime.

It was a little pricey ($20 per person for what we ordered) so we’re not likely to come back for the afternoon tea service, but we’re definitely going to come back and try some of the other teas and items on their menu. I believe I saw something about a cheese platter and I sure am interested in that. The hefty tea service price is likely because you’re paying for the service and experience, not quite the amount of food. They did offer us refills, though, but we were on our way to something else. Perhaps we’ll take more time and get refills of our tea next time!

Yuuuuum! Everything about this post is making me hungry! I love how your taro latte came out with the bear art! That is just too cute! I’d not have drank it because of its cuteness~!

The waffle looks scrumptious! And Matt’s drink also look so delectable. I would totally come to this place at least once just to experience it all!

Welcome back to So Cal! Arcadia is really close to my work place! It’s interesting to hear that the cafe is inside a gym.. I would usually imagine a plain cafe to be in the gym but nothing that fancy ;). I can’t believe it took an hour for the food to get prepared and everything! At least the food and everything that came out looked so cute!! The waffle looks so cute! I wouldn’t mind paying $10 considering how the looks overpower everything. Hope you’ll have fun (or had fun) when you were in the area!

Oh my gosh, that S’mores Mocha Latte already stole my heart. If you can imagine that cartoon that grabs onto their chest but to no avail their heart pops out? Because that’s how I feel right now! And then I get to your waffle and I am speechless.

The representation already is A++++++!

It sounds like your time in So Cal is good! I hope you get more of these joyful experiences in So Cal πŸ™‚

An hour is a long time to wait for food! At least it looks like the food and drinks were worth the wait πŸ™‚ That smores mocha latte looks good, and your taro tea latte is so cute. The Tiramisu Waffle looks amazing too. So much stuff on top! I’d like to try that!

An hour is a long time to wait for food. Normally it’s not a huge deal, but it’s horrible when you’re really hungry (which I usually am! haha).

Oh my goodness. That s’mores mocha latte looks delicious and so pretty! I love s’mores so I love it when its incorporated to other foods/drinks in a unique way. And your tiramisu waffle. 0.0 So good.

How do you find all these adorable cafΓ©s and restaurants? They all look so great!
